Lucas “Luke” Brian Serman

On September 6, 2014, Lucas “Luke” Brian Serman received the ultimate healing after a short illness. When Luke was born twenty-nine years ago on February 4, 1985 no one could imagine the impact his life would have on his family and friends.
Luke’s life is celebrated by his wife, Mallory Ward Serman and son, Jackson Robert Serman of Wetumpka, AL; parents, Robert “Bob” and Kelly Serman and sister Sarah Beth Serman of Valley Grande, AL; in-laws, Jim and LeaAnn Ward of Montgomery, AL; grandparents, Philip and Marcie Beverly, Sr. of Valley Grande, AL; and Carroll and Grace Serman, Jr. of Tyler, AL; brother-in-law, Bubba Ward (Paige) and sister-in-law, Meredith Erwin (Stevie). He is also survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Luke graduated from Dallas County High School in 2003 where he played on the football team. In 2003 he was the starting center for the first football team at Huntingdon College. Luke worked as a welder for various industries, but the job he was the proudest of was being a devoted Dad. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Luke loved spending time with his family and friends, watching his son skateboard and watching Alabama football. He was known for his outgoing personality, great laugh, love of God and life. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sister Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday night at Selma Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Erwin, Clay Harris, Boone Hopson, Clint Serman, Ricky Vogler, and Bubba Ward.
