Justice for All Ball kicks off National Recovery Month

Dallas County Court Services is battling socially and familial ills of substance abuse with a series of fun events.
The nonprofit group is commemorating the 25th annual National Recovery Month with three September events. Designed to provide assistance with rehabilitation services, the program is kicking off its campaign with a Justice for All Ball Friday at 7 p.m. at the Carl Morgan Convention Center.
“As [clients] are getting off the substances, they are experiences medical issues, trying to find housing and get the basic living skills that they need,” said Miah Jackson, executive director of the Dallas County Court services. “This event will raise funds, so when then needs arose, we will be able to provide them.”
The Justice for All Ball will include entertainment by Porta Party DJ Entertainment, speakers and an opportunity to get on the dance floor.
Dallas County Court Services is aiming to raise at least $7,000.
Single tickets are $30, while couple tickets are $50. To purchase tickets, call Jackson at 267-1032, or visit the Dallas County Courthouse on 105 Lauderdale Street.
Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event.
On Sept. 19, Dallas County Court Services will hold a Rally in the Park event at Phoenix Park on Water Avenue at from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with food, entertainment and games.
On Sept. 28, the holding their first Recovery Unity Service at Tabernacle Praise, which is located on Woodrow Ave, at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Join the Voices for Recovery: Speak Up, Reach Out!” Guests will have a chance to hear testimonies, singing and the message from the word of God.
