The fall Little Lamb Children’s Consignment Sale has moved to a new location.

From Sept. 4 to Sept. 6, Little Lamb will host three sales at Meadowview Christian School Gym. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will benefit area charities, which will be announced after the sale.

“We just feel like we all need to pitch in and help our community as much as we can,” said Little Lamb chairwoman Claire Gibbs, who leads the non-profit community outreach group composed of Elkdale Church members. “This is our little way of trying to help.”

Sellers will be offering clothes, books, toys, strollers, baby beds, high chairs, car seats and more material for children at affordable prices. The gym will also be stocked with plenty of items for mothers, such as maternity clothes.

In previous years, proceeds from the sales have benefited Alabama Teen Challenge, Dallas County Resource Center, Selma Area Food Bank, Journey School and more.

The preview sale, which Gibbs said normally attracts up to 150 in the first hour, will be Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:15 p.m. The entry fee for every individual 12 or older is $5, which will be donated to the Salvation Army.

The group asks that no one bring children younger than 12 to the preview sale.

Shoppers can attend the following sales at no admission cost.

The next sale is scheduled for Friday night at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday sale from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

After dedicating plenty of time and effort into organizing the fall sale, the Little Lamb Council is anticipating another successful event. They are hoping plenty of people come out to help their reach their goal of $6,000 to $7,000, while nabbing great deals.

Long-time shopper and seller Gabe Norton said the sale is good for all involved.

She said shoppers walk away with great deals and sellers walk away knowing their items helped the Dallas County area.

“I liked the mutual benefit that I could sell things that I had no need for at a fair price, so people could get good deals and some of the money would go toward charity,“ Norton said. “It felt like I was not only helping other new moms, but also the Selma community.”
