Donald Wilfred Coffee, Sr. age 81, died August 6, 2014. He was born June 20, 1933 in Lanett, Alabama and moved with his family to Selma in 1937. He accepted Jesusas his Savior in 1943. After graduating from Parrish High School in 1951, he attended Auburn University for two years. He was drafted and served in the Army Quartermaster Corps. stationed in Kobe, Japan for two years.

He met and married Peggy Hull of Athens, AL. in 1957. Mr. Coffee joined the family business, Coffee Printing Company in 1956 until it closed in 2007.

His main emphasis was serving Christ through his business and through the First Baptist Church Sunday School where he served in nearly every position. He also served on many of the church committees and was a Deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Imogene Coffee, his older brothers, Theodore Coffee, Jr.; Gene Edward Coffee, his twin brother, Ronnie Coffee, and his grandson Garrett Coffee.

He is survived by his wife Peggy and his children, Connie C. Allen (Gary), Donnie Coffee Jr. (Chelle), Christie C. Grant (Larry); also his grandchildren Lydia Jane Dungan (Ben), Joshua Allen Grant, Heather J. Gray; Mary Kay Coffee, Brett Allen and Brittany Allen.

His pallbearers will be sons-in-law Larry Grant and Gary Allen, grandson-in-law Ben Dungan and friends Leo Friday, Elton McGaha and Elton Ralston. Visitation was Thursday Aug. 7, 2014 from 5 – 7:00pm at Selma Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday Aug. 8, 2014 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Selma with Dr. Jerry Light and Dr. J.D. Davis officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.
