Roland E. Courtney, Jr. of Selma passed away on August 2, 2014 at the age of 89 at Noland Hospital in Montgomery AL.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Yarbrough officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2014 in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Interment will be in Old Live Oak Cemetery following the funeral service on Tuesday.

Mr. Courtney was born in Selma, AL, he was a WWII veteran serving as Petty Officer 1st class in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Steel City Bolt & Screw Company where he served as a Sales Representative.

He is survived by his wife, Marion Courtney; sons, Roland E. (Barbara) Courtney III, Larry Dale (Cindy) Courtney and Gary Keith (Ethel) Courtney; and daughter, Sharron Diane Courtney.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roland C. and Annie Myrtle Courtney.
