Entrepreneurship program will help our young people

The Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce is working with the University of Alabama to host a youth entrepreneurship program beginning Tuesday.
This program, which already operates in Tuscaloosa, is a much needed opportunity to engage young people in the area and promote the skills and mindset of business owners.
Dallas County has a generational unemployment problem, and it will not be solved until we start getting creative and finding ways to encourage our youth to enter the business world with high hopes and aspirations.
We applaud the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce for bringing this program to Selma.
Any investment made in the youth of Dallas County is a worthwhile investment, and we hope other organizations find ways to engage our youth.
