Thomas Franklin Jackson

Thomas Franklin Jackson, 79, of Livingston and formerly of Demopolis, died Thursday, March 6 at his home in Livingston.

He was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Selma to Kyser and Wilma Jackson. He was the owner of Carpets By Miller in Demopolis for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Moore Jackson of Livingston; daughters, Susan (Sid) Nelson of Epes, Sandra (Ricky) Trull of Leesville, La., and Cynthia (Mike) Hudson of Brandon, Miss.; sister, Matt (Cliford) Prescott of Memphis, Tenn.; brother, Clarence (Ruby) Jackson of Mobile; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 9 at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis chapel at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Bobby Hopper, the Rev. Jerry Hall and the Rev. Richard Scott officiating. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma. Visitation was held from 1-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Thomas Floyd, Ben Trull, Andrew Hudson, Thomas Hudson, Bob Price, and Larry Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men’s Sunday School class at Livingston Baptist Church, the Gallion Baptist church choir members and former employees of Carpets By Miller.
