The Alabama Department of Revenue will host a free New Business workshop beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 on the Wallace Community College Selma campus.

The workshop, which will cover a variety of topics, is scheduled to take place in Room 105 of the Hank Sanders Building, at 3000 Earl Goodwin Parkway in Selma.

Among the topics to be covered include state tax information such as employer withholding taxes, state and local sales taxes, property taxes, business licensing requirements, and Alabama’s child labor law.

The session will also feature an overview of the state’s electronic business tax filing programs.

Workshop participants will also be provided with information Alabama’s new ONE SPOT internet filing and payment portal. ONE SPOT allows business taxpayers to file and pay state, county and city sales, use, and rental taxes all in one place.
