A Huntsville man was indicted by a Dallas County Grand Jury Thursday for his role in a March 2013 murder.
Joshua McClendon, 21, was indicted for murder after allegedly shooting a man on the 100 block of Beech Creek Lane in Selma. McClendon is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2.5 million bond. District Attorney Michael Jackson said McClendon will appear in Dallas County Circuit Court in the coming months for an arraignment.
The incident occurred on March 3, 2013, when McClendon and the victim, De’Andre Palmer got into an altercation inside of a vehicle. Once Palmer exited the car, McClendon shot him, according to police reports.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Palmer being comforted by a family member, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center immediately after and was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m. on March 3, 2013.
