Female suspect on the run after shooting ex
A Selma man in his 30s was left critically wounded after a shooting reported on the 2700 block of Alabama Avenue Friday morning.
Selma Police Department officers and detectives responded to the 2700 block of Alabama Avenue at approximately 11 a.m. in reference to a gunshot victim, and found a male in his thirties suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. According to Lt. Curtis Muhannad with the Selma Police Department, the victim and witnesses said the victim was reportedly shot by his ex-girlfriend, Lakeisha Michelle Prince of Selma, 39, with a small silver revolver.
“According to the witnesses, Ms. Prince entered the barbershop angry, and told the victim that she knew he was having an affair with a certain female,” Muhannad stated in an emailed press release. “Ms. Prince attempted to slap the victim, but he pushed her away and that’s when she pulled the firearm and shot the victim.”
Muhannad said Prince fled the scene in a white early 90’s Honda car. The victim was rushed to the Vaughan Regional Hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in Montgomery in critical condition.
Prince is currently on the run from law enforcement and a warrant has been issued for her arrest for attempted murder.
“She is considered armed and dangerous,” Muhannad said.
