Meadowview Christian’s (12-11) boys and girls varsity basketball teams reached the Class A AISA quarterfinals, but both teams lost on Wednesday and saw their seasons come to an end.

The Trojans boys were tied with Lakeside Academy at 37-37 after three quarters, but were unable to keep pace in the final quarter in a 59-52 defeat.

C. J. Grimes led the Trojans with 22 points in the game and Carstella Hayes added 13 points.

Meadowview Christian’s (6-15) Lady Trojans also fell to Lakeside Academy Wednesday 64-24.

The Trojans were led by Claudia Kendrick, who scored 11 points in the game.

The Lady Trojans gave up 28 points in the first quarter and trailed 46-10 at halftime, as Lakeside rolled to a win.

Both teams were the fourth seed from Class A, Region 2.
