Jase Robertson, part of A&E’s Duck Dynasty, is less than a month from traveling to Selma as a part of Meadowview Christian School’s Sunday in Selma Praise and Worship Service.

Meadowview Christian is busy preparing for the praise and worship service, scheduled for March 2 at Memorial Stadium from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. where he will serve as host and guest speaker. Gates will open at noon.

“It’s grown bigger and bigger than we have ever imagined that it could,” event organizer Traci Kendrick said.

The service will include a Christian message from Robertson, food vendors and performances from local Christian groups.

During the ceremony, Meadowview students will collect donations for Alabama Teen Challenge, Selma-Dallas Save-A-Life and Integrity Worldwide.

Kendrick said the group has been preparing for months for the big day.

“We’ve been doing the advertising and just getting things ready,” she said.

Kendrick said the she is hoping people who visit will build a close relationship with the Lord.

“We hope that nonbelievers might come to this and might turn to the Lord,” Kendrick said. That’s what our nation needs and our city right now.”

General admission tickets are $35, and they are only available online at ticketalternative.com.

A handful of $1,000 meet-and-greet tickets, that allow people to meet Robertson prior to the service and get a picture with him, are also available. People can also purchase $100 sponsorship tickets, which would seat buyers on the infield in front of the stage.

Kendrick said Meadowview is expecting a big crowd since tickets have been selling quickly.

“It’s going very good, but we still have tickets available” Kendrick said.

Kendrick said she is looking forward to the praise and worship service, and she welcomes the entire community join ceremony.

“He’ll [Robertson] be talking on faith and family, and we’re really excited about it,” she said. “We just invite everyone come out and support it.”
