Dallas County (20-3) finds itself in a familiar spot in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball poll.
The Hornets are ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, after sliding a couple of weeks ago after a buzzer beating loss to Wilcox Central.
When former No. 1 J. O. Johnson lost last week, it opened the door for the Hornets to climb back to the top spot in the rankings.
Dallas County will play Elmore County Friday at 1 p.m.
Keith (17-6) remains ranked No. 4 in Class 1A. The Bears will take on Billingsley Friday at 1 p.m.
Selma’s Lady Saints (20-4) remain the only girls team in this week’s poll at No. 8 in Class 5A. Selma will play at Demopolis Friday night.
Keith’s Lady Bears (17-6) were nominated for ranking. Keith will also host Billingsley Friday.
