Jamya Smith made four three-pointers to lead Selma’s Lady Saints (18-4) past Southside (10-10) for a 58-28 win.
Smith totaled 14 points to lead the Saints and Ayana More added 11 points as the Saints continued their hot streak.
“Coming off a road game and going back on the road, sometimes that can be a mental thing but I think they are up for the task,” Selma head coach Anthony Harris said. “I see some bright spots. I can go to the bench and I think I can play 12 kids easily now.”
The Panthers were unable to overcome turnovers in the second quarter that turned a 19-13 Selma lead into a 32-15 halftime advantage.
“We had some opportunities, some turnovers that we didn’t take advantage of, but what it boils down to is we have to be able to take advantage of every opportunity every game we play,” Southside head coach Jason Bothwell said.
