A public hearing will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. to determine whether a portion of Pecan Drive in the Marshall Place subdivision should be closed.
Selma City Councilwoman Susan Keith said she received a petition from several residents of the neighborhood, asking for the closure, and subsequently arranged a public hearing. The street closure wouldn’t take place until after construction on the Dallas Avenue bridge is completed Keith said.
“I don’t have a particular opinion on it, but the residents requested the closure,” she said. “There are people who say it is because of the traffic that is coming through. People who live near to the street will have the opportunity to speak first.”
She said each person in attendance would have an opportunity to speak for a short period of time.
The meeting will be held at Selma City Hall in the council chambers located on the second floor.
