Annual Morgan Academy hunt set to begin

Hunters will come from all around to take part in the Morgan deer hunt that begins Friday, Jan. 10 and ends Sunday, Jan. 12.
The hunt is a fundraiser for the school that started in 1972. The hunt secures 40,000 plus acres of privately owned land as registered hunters are given land and a time to hunt on that land. Hunters are placed on land in the Selma area in various box and tree stands overlooking planted food plots, game trails and hardwood bottoms.
Morgan Academy’s base package gives hunters four hunts, includes transportation to and from the hunting sites and the cleaning and quartering of game is included. The package also includes cookout dinners on Friday and Saturday night, as well as lodging for both nights at a local hotel in Selma.
