Eulav “Joan” Phillips Seekers, age 73, of Selma, AL, went home Friday, December 27, 2013.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Terrell Wayne Seekers; sisters: Gladys Arnold of Gramerton, NC, Myrtle Green of Gastonia, NC; brothers: Denford Phillips (Ginger) of Springhill, FL, Charles Phillips (Barbara) of Luverne, AL; sons: Walter Wayne Seekers (Peggy) of Marion Jct, AL, Floyd William Seekers (Eva) of Jones, AL; daughter: Shellia Ann McCarthy (Kenny) of Luverne,AL : grandsons: Jody Austin Rogers (Heather) of Luverne, AL, Jeremy Thomas Nichols (Lauren) of Selma, AL, Chad William Seekers (Crystal) of Selma, Terry Frank Gatlin of Atlanta, Ga; granddaughters: Ashley Victoria Seekers Fancher (Robbie) of Valley Grande, AL, Nancy Caroline Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK; great grandchildren: Addison Grace Fancher, James Allen McCray, Cashe’ Renee Seekers, Emerson Hayes Fancher, Chase Wayne Rogers, Jacob Ashton Rogers, Drake Aaron Thomas Nichols, Peyton Huffman, Evangeline Rose Seekers; and a special friend and neighbor, Steve Reid.

Mrs. Seekers is preceded by her parents: Johnny Walter and Nancy Victoria Odem Phillips; brother: Dempsey Phillips (Ruby) of Luvurne, AL; and sister: Myrtis Milton ( Harley) of Gastonia, NC.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Brantley, AL with Rev. Bernie Enzor and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Pleasant Home Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lawrence Brown-Service funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be: Jody Austin Rogers, Chad William Seekers, Jeremy Thomas Nichols, Robbie DeWayne Fancher, Steve Reid and Kenny Harris.
