Two men are dead as the result of gunshot wounds following an altercation Tuesday night at 2713 North Broad Street.

Chief of Police William Riley said an older male victim, identified as 77-year-old Willie “Dusty” Berry, of Orrville, was returning home when two suspects approached him after he had arrived at his front door. One of the suspects was wearing a mask.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and attempted to rob Berry, Riley said. Berry was shot in the abdomen. After being shot, he pulled his own gun and shot one of the suspects, later identified as Orrville resident Lester Jones, in the head.
