Nuna was blessed and proud of her daughters, Marilou for her service with children and church music, and Sue in her service of children’s pediatric nursing and medical missionary trips to Africa. As well as the many activities of working, “homeholidays,” sports, hunting, fishing, cooking, books, art and music, she enjoyed time with her son in laws, grandsons, and great grandchildren. She was closest to God in her walks in the woods and the many flower gardens she created throughout God’s seasons of her life.

Mrs. Louise was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis, Alabama where she enjoyed choir and teaching. In the past year, she looked forward to worshiping at Birmingham’s Church of the Highlands with her daughter, Marilou and her great granddaughter, Alena.

In the bulb, there is a flower, in the seed, an apple tree, in cocoons, a hidden promise, butterflies will soon be free! In the cold and snow of winter, there is a spring that waits to be, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see. There’s a song in every silence, seeking word a melody. There’s a dawn in every darkness bringing hope to you and me. From the past – will come the future what it holds, a mystery – unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our love beginning

In our times infinity

In our doubt there is believing

In our life, eternity

In our death, a resurrection

at the last a victory

unrevealed until its season, something

God alone can see.

Rest well, Nuna. May your shadow be cast daily on all of yours and God’s trees and flowers.

Love you the most.
