The Southside Lady Panthers jumped out to a 10-0 lead early against Ellwood Christian and never looked back in a 56-21 win.
The Eagles actually rebounded from the double digit hole to trail only 10-7 after the first quarter, but Southside held Ellwood to only six points in the second half. Ellwood did not score in the fourth quarter.
“In the first half, we were second guessing and trying to guess what was going on and where we were supposed to go,” Southside head coach Jason Bothwell said. “Once we got into that rhythm going into halftime, it kind of took off from there.”
Colvondrea Blackmon led the Panthers with 19 points.
Ellwood Christian was led by Ebony Simpson, who scored seven points.
