Two accidents, both happening on Alabama Highway 22, claimed the lives of two people last weekend.

One person was killed Friday afternoon on Alabama Highway 22, four miles north of Selma, while another was killed in a Saturday night accident on Alabama Highway 22 near Alabama Highway 219.

Alabama State Troopers reported that Robert Veazey, 61, from Hoover, was killed Friday at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 22.

Veazey was killed when the 1977 BMW motorcycle he was driving collided with a 2003 Honda CR-V driven by Cynthia H. Buster of Valley Grande.

Veazey was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Buster was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

Saturday night, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Kira Harrigan, 33, a resident of the Virgin Islands, was killed when the 2013 Nissan Versa she was driving collided with two other vehicles at the intersection of Alabama Highway 22 and Alabama Highway 219.
