A Selma man, wanted by the Selma Police in connection with a shooting Wednesday evening, and considered “armed and dangerous” is now in custody.
Officials with the Selma Police Department announced Thursday afternoon, they had arrested 18-year-old Rydreius LeMariquis Devonte Hardy in connection with a shooting that took place just before 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Old Cahaba Road.
According to Lt. Curtis Muhannad, Hardy reportedly was traveling in a red, 2005 Dodge Ram, traveling west on Old Cahaba Road. At one point, Hardy saw a person he had been arguing with earlier, standing outside of his vehicle.
Muhannad said Hardy allegedly stopped the vehicle and exchanged words with the individual before firing three shots at the victim. Only the victim’s vehicle was struck in the shooting.
After the shooting, Muhannad said, Hardy reportedly fled west on Old Cahaba Road.
Hardy was arrested — without incident — in the 3000 block of Earl Goodwin Parkway. He was processed, charged and placed in the Dallas County Jail.
Hardy is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Discharging firearm into an Unoccupied Vehicle, which is a Class C Felony. Punishment for a Class C felony is not more than 10 years or less than one year and one day.
Hardy’s bond was set at $60,000.
