Five suspects, believed tied to the burglary of the Sneakers store, located on Broad Street, last week have been arrested and charged.
According to the Selma Police Department, 18-year-old Cedric Hunter, 19-year-old Torrey Deshon Lewis and three juveniles were arrested Tuesday and charged.
Lt. Curtis Muhannad said Sneakers had been burglarized during the night between Wednesday, Aug. 14 and Thursday, Aug. 15.
“During the investigation, detectives learned that a suspicious person had been stopped near the business prior to the business being found burglarized,” Muhannad said. “The field interview led to identifying suspects involved in the burglaries.”
He said all the suspects were located and then transported to the Selma Police Department for questioning. After interviewing each suspect, probable cause arrests were made.
Hunter and Lewis were charged with Burglary third degree and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and transported to the Dallas County Jail. The juveniles were charged with burglary third and held at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center.
Hunter, charged with burglary third and one county of contributing to the delinquency of a minor is being held under a $16,000 bond. Lewis, charged with burglary third and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, is being held under a $17,000 bond.
Each of the juveniles are being charged with burglary third.
