Ledger Rutledge, 90, resident of Selma, passed away August 1, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Darryl Moore officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Ledger Rutledge was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Rutledge. Cherishing him in memory are his loving children, Two sons: Willie (Rita) Steele, James Rutledge; One daughter: Christine (John) Spear; Two godsons: Robert Steele Jr. and Rafael Mason; One goddaughter: Eunice Walker; Seven grandchildren: John Jr., Phillip, Christopher, Anastasia, Shirnell, Cedric and Argent; Two “adopted” grandchildren: Orlando and Jasmine; Two great grandchildren: Madison and Ethan; One sister: Ora Martin; Two brothers: Sam Rutledge and Clifton (Pearl) Rutledge; A dear lifelong friend: Myrtlene Hall; A devoted family friend: Linda Brown; And a host of other relatives and friends that are too numerous to name.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will be John Spear Jr., Christopher Smiley, Phillip Spear, Orlando Davis, Argent Steele, Cedric Davis and Marvin Brown.
