Selma’s American Apparel, located on the Cecil Jackson Bypass, specializes in manufacturing combat uniforms for all branches of the military. In an effort to increase their contracts, the company has hired a lobby firm to work on uniform procurement.
The law firm Montgomery Fazzone & Taylor, based in Washington D.C., will represent the company while it attempts to navigate federal grants policies and score contracts for procurement of military uniforms.
Though the registration form only appeared on Friday, the firm began its services June 1, while congressional deliberations of the FY 2014 defense budget were ongoing.
American Apparel has been an industry leader in manufacturing combat and utility uniforms for the Department of Defense for nearly 30 years.
In addition to American Apparel’s headquarters in Selma, the company operates four other separate manufacturing facilities throughout the state in Centre, Oneonta, Fort Deposit and Opp.
