Admittedly, the trash talking between staff members of Vaughan Regional Medical Center and residents with UAB Selma Family Medicine has noticeably picked up the past few days.
The back and forth between the staffs has nothing to do with medicine, but Wednesday evening’s charitable softball game at Bloch Park that will pit the two medical staffs against one another.
“We have a lot to live up to, a lot of trash talking to fight back against with our play Wednesday,” UAB resident Dr. Shanker Unnikrishnan said. “There’s been plenty of talking, we’ll have to see what happens on the field.”
The game, which was put together over the past few weeks, was organized much in the same way as last year’s game between the UAB residents and Teen Challenge.
Proceeds from this game will go to support Sabra Sanctuary. Admission to the game is $3 per person.
Unnikrishnan said the event was only made possible through the help of their director Dr. Boyd Bailey and Dr. John Mitchell, Susan Hunter and Dr. Cameron Ahmad, who “volunteered to take over the head coaching responsibilities.”
