Extend a welcoming hand to those in Selma this weekend

With spring weather in full force and Selma bustling with events and activities, we welcome the influx of guests to the Queen City. This is Selma’s time to shine and show everyone why it’s so great to live in the Black Belt region.
As visitors flood our city, we encourage residents to extend a warm welcome and positive attitude. We especially encourage restaurants and hotels to extend a hospitable hand, as they will be flooded with site-seers.
We’re glad to see Selma come alive with activity and hope this is just a preview of what’s to come in the upcomging spring and summer months. Also, we encourage organizations to continue to host weekend events, as this generates revenue and positive attention for our city.
While some may say that Selma is not conducive for tourism and business — we have to disagree. Selma, as proved this weekend, is an excellent place to bring your family and witness history come alive through vibrant reenactments.
While in the area, we encourage visitors to soak up as much Selma history as possible. Who knows, you may run into a ghost from battles past and be offered some kettle corn and root beer.
