Many ways to get involved in Relay for Life

If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that cancer never sleeps — and neither will Selma and Dallas County on Friday, April 19. The American Cancer society is gearing up for one of its largest annual fundraisers, Relay for Life.
We encourage everyone to get involved with this event. Whether it’s raising money or sacrificing sleep at Memorial Stadium April 19, there’s a way for everyone to get involved and not only raise cancer awareness, but fight it while doing so.
Teams for the relay typically consist of 10 people with the goal of raising $100 or more. Businesses can also pledge to be a sponsor which requires anywhere from a $260 donation to a $2,000 donation.
And Relay for Life isn’t the only outlet residents can use to help fight cancer.
Vaughan Regional Medical Center will host a golf tournament at the Valley Grande Golf Course Wednesday, March 27 to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
The tournament is open to anyone and is a great way to fellowship on the green while raising money for a great cause.
No matter what your age or walk of life, there’s a way you can get involved in the fight on cancer. We encourage the entire community to embrace these events and celebrate life while fighting this horrible disease that claims countless lives.
