Birmingham exhibit coming to Selma

Selma Mayor George Evans announced Tuesday that the Birmingham 2013 Traveling Civil Rights Exhibit will arrive in Selma on Monday, Feb. 11. It will open to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 12 and will be on display in the George P. Evans Reception Center at 2 Lawrence Street. The exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday for an entire month.
Selma is just one of the stops for this exhibit which will travel to Washington D.C., Montgomery, New Orleans, Memphis, New York City and more. The exhibit will return to Birmingham in September in commemoration of the 16th Street Baptist bombings.
