Alvin Louis Crocker, Jr. passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 his home in Selma with Hospice surrounded by loved ones.

A Uniontown High School Graduate, Mr. Crocker worked as a clerk and agent for Norfolk Southern until his retirement in 2005. While serving as a staff sergeant and a command post specialist in the 21st composite wing at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, AK, His unit received the U.S. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. He was responsible for keeping enemy planes from entering the United States via Alaska. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the American Legion and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks #167.

Mr. Crocker is preceded in death by his parents: Alvin Louis Cocker, Sr. and Ruby Grigsby Crocker. He is survived by numerous cousins and his companions of many years.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown with Rev. David Powell officiating.

Memorials may be sent to the Old Depot Museum, of which he was especially fond.
