Two suspects had previously been connected to the recent robberies at Maxway and Church’s Chicken. Tuesday, an official with the Selma Police Department, said the department believes they now have leads on a third suspect.
The Times-Journal learned police have identified Prince James, a Selma native, and brother of one of the previously arrested suspects, as the third person tied to last week’s robbery at Church’s Chicken and a robbery in late October at Maxway.
Police have said they learned of Prince James connection through continued investigation and one of the other co-defendants providing information to authorities.
Willie Lowe, 27, and Corey James, 21, and brother of Prince James, are currently in custody, charged with robbery and held under a $2,000,000 bond.
Lowe, who was reportedly on federal probation at the time of the robberies and his arrest, was charged and — at the request of his federal probation officer in Mobile — was transported to a federal holding facility in Uniontown.
James remains in the Dallas County Jail.
The two were arrested Friday after authorities had received a Crimestoppers tip, connecting the pair to the robberies. Police also recovered a .380 pistol and Tech 9 weapon at the time the two were arrested.
Selma Police officials ask that if anyone has any information on Prince James’ whereabouts or any other details on these crimes, to please call Crimestoppers at 1-866-44-CRIME.
