SELMONT — The Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate an early Friday morning crash that claimed the life of a Selma man.
According to a department release, the accident took place around 2:40 a.m. on U.S. Highway 80 at the 87.5 mile marker.
Killed in the accident was 44-year-old Jessie James Walker Jr. of Selma.
Troopers said Walker was killed when the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving left the roadway, struck a bridge rail and overturned. Walker reportedly was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
No other information, including what might have caused Walker’s truck to leave the road, was made available.
Miller Funeral Service of Selma was charged with funeral arrangements, but had not finalized any plans before deadline.
