It might be too much to ask of those running for office this year, but we’ll try anyway: “Will everyone play nice this time around?”

The final day to qualify for municipal elections in Selma, Valley Grande, Orrville, Camden, Uniontown, Marion and other places is Tuesday, July 17.

As of close of business Tuesday, we will know — officially — who has stepped up to put their names on the ballot and run for office.

After Tuesday, the next 42 days will see a flurry of campaigning and politicing that we thankfully only see every four years.

As always, we wish all the candidates the best and we admire them for their sacrifice. At the same time, we ask them to play nice.
