Elise Babette Cromwell was born November 19, 1920, in Furth, Bavaria, Germany, the daughter of Urban and Helene Elisabeth Georgine (Heissmann) Herbolzheimer. She married John Bryan Cromwell on June 28, 1950 in Nurnberg, Germany.

She died on March 7, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa at the age of 91 years.

She is survived by her 2 sons Peter (Patricia) Cromwell of Atlanta, GA and Chris (Ann) Cromwell of Williamsburg, IA; 4 grandchildren: Bryan (Dawn) Cromwell, Sean Cromwell, Katy Cromwell, and Ted Cromwell; 3 great grandchildren: Dillon, Juliette, and Victoria Cromwell.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1–1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Cromwell, Sean Cromwell, Peter Cromwell, and Chris Cromwell.
