Wallace men, women win on the road

BAY MINETTE — The Wallace Community College-Selma Lady Patriots defeated Faulkner State 74-42 on the road Monday.
Ebony Smith led Wallace with 23 points, while Ashley Grimes had a triple-double, with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the Lady Patriots.
Jibria Hooper also had 15 points for Wallace.
The win improves the Lady Patriots record to 16-6 overall, and 9-2 in the Alabama Community College Conference, as they still sit at first place.
The Wallace men’s team (12-14, 7-5 in the ACCC) also defeated Faulkner State on the road Monday, as a Fredrick Turner 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Patriots to a 66-65 victory.
Turner led the Patriots with 17 points, while Bobby King had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for Wallace.
The win ties the Patriots at third place in the ACCC.
Both the Wallace men’s and women’s teams will take the floor again on the road at Lurleen B. Wallace at Andalusia on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
