“This year we have a goal of trying to raise $10,000 and that $10,000 will go toward a couple things,” Evans said. “In particular, it will go toward getting this new program that we have called Hudl, and one of the things that it does is a company that we can send our film in for all of our sports and they can break it down for us and be able to forward it to colleges and different schools for the sake of trying to get kids scholarships. Also, it gives our coaches a resource for games on any particular night.”

Evans said some of the money will also go toward improving the softball fields behind Selma High School, and toward helping send basketball and football players to summer camps.

The deadline to pre-register for the run is April 8, with registration for the 8k and the run/walk being $7 for ages 13 and under, and $15 for ages 14 and older.

Race day registration for both races is $10 for ages 13 and under, and $20 for ages 14 and older, with registration taking place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at Selma High School.

Registration can be done at any Selma City School, Vaughan’s Wellness and Fitness Center at 630 Medical Center Parkway, the Selma-Dallas County YMCA or www.selmacitysports.com.
