“One thing about my kids, with this being my first year at Demopolis, I thought my kids played real hard this year,” Rodney said. “Didn’t play smart all the time, but they played very hard and I’m proud of them for that. Next year we’ll definitely be better. We’ll be younger, stronger, they’ll have two years under me and I expect big things.”

Blevins led the Saints with 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Alexander had 14 points.

Mitchell had 11 points and 7 rebounds, while Gunn had 10 points, and Tavarius Murry added 6 points and 5 boards for Selma.

Wilks led the Tigers with 10 points, while Harold Scott had 8 points for Demopolis.

Woodie said his team will have to be well prepared again when it faces Wilcox on Monday.

“We’ve got two days of practice, so we’ll be playing a different style because we’ll be playing a different team,” Woodie said.

“We’ll go back and make some adjustments and try to simulate what Wilcox does and try to be ready for them on Monday night.”
