Alice and Harry Wooten of Selma, AL announce the wedding of their son, Brandon J. Wooten, Esq., to Danielle Nicole Hegler, daughter of Jacqueline and Oscar Byers of Birmingham, AL.
Brandon and Danielle became casual acquaintances during their undergraduate studies at Tuskegee University. After graduating, Cum Laude, receiving a B. A. in English, Brandon went on to further his studies receiving a J. D. of Law from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Inspired by the public servitude of those like his grandmother, Mrs. Alice West, during the Civil Rights Movement and after serving as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill for the Office of Sen. Jeff Sessions in Washington, D.C., Brandon decided to return home to establish his law practice. He is the owner of the Wooten Law Firm in Selma, AL.
Danielle, on the other hand, received her B.S. in Environmental Science before venturing to Denver, Colorado where she completed a Master’s in Environmental Policy from the University of Denver. After graduate school she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to accept her current position as the Regional Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Coordinator for the USDA Forest Service. She has been a trusted employee of the United States Federal Government for almost ten (10) years and oversees this program for the 12 southern states and Puerto Rico. Brandon and Danielle are members of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., respectfully.
Their February 2012 wedding will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Selma, AL.
