Columbia Burton Wilson, 90, of Safford, AL died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at a local nursing facility. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Wilson and daughter, Peggy Carol Grigsby. Survivors include her son, Allen Wilson of La Cygne, KS; daughter, M. Jane Webb of Crossville, TN; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2012 at Safford Baptist Church with Reverend William Donald Harris officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and burial following in the Safford Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12-1 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia was born in Pikeville, KY, Johnson County, January 26, 1921. She and husband, Carl E. Wilson, deceased, moved to Safford 19 years ago. She was an active prayer warrior and Sunday school teacher for many years at Safford Baptist Church and was instrumental in establishing the Wednesday Cathy Jones Prayer Group. Pallbearers will be Chuck Webb, Craig Webb, Walt A. Grigsby, C.J. Wilson, Lee Jones and Robert Caine.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Safford Baptist Church.

Robert Thomas Poe, age 81, of Prattville, died Wednesday January 4, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Drefus Poe and Bonita Ousley Poe. He is survived by his family, Joe and Charlene Raker, Erica and Ryan Kvak, Christa and Davey Davenport and by those who knew him as Bob-Paw, Brianna, Charlie and Kayce Davenport, Emily and Jared Kvak.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 7, 2012 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Pastor Joe Raker officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be The United States Navy.
