Kenneth H. Cook died peacefully in his home Friday, December 30, 2011.  He was born January 15, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama.  He is survived by Karen, his loving wife of fifty years; a daughter, Amber Schur (John) of Palm City, FL.; son, Lane Cook (Tiffany) of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Drew, Teresa, Tommy and Taylor; three sisters, Jackie Budd, Peggy Smith, Linda O’Daniel and one brother, Jim Cook.

He graduated with a degree in education from California State College at Fullerton and subsequently earned two MS Degrees in Alabama.  He taught and coached high school football, baseball and other sports in Dallas and Autauga Counties in Alabama and in Lake Placid, Florida.  He was also an assistant principal and an area resource teacher educating students about  the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse before retiring to Jupiter, Florida in 1996.  He was employed as a teaching assistant working with ESOL and Special Education students at West Gate Elementary School in West Palm Beach until he retired in 2010.

He loved watching and helping his students learn and was duly rewarded by their love and admiration.  Students and adults alike responded to his ability to make them laugh and have fun and he, in turn, was equally gratified.  He will be remembered and missed by many.
