Law enforcement counts on us for help

Last week, we called on the community to begin to take more pride in itself. We said how can we expect others to believe in our city, our county before we ourselves to.
We challenged our neighbors, our friends, those we go to church with to begin the process of battling the ills of our community, solving the problems that are easily fixed with the hope of improving our community and making it more attractive to future industries, businesses and residents.
One such way we, as a community, can make a difference is to put a stop to the petty crime that consistently finds a way onto the front pages of this newspaper.
Local police and sheriffs department officials have begun complimenting the response and help from residents that has proved invaluable in solving recent cases and stopping some criminal activity in its tracts.
There is more that can be done.
Today we challenge local residents to put to good use the Selma Police Department’s secret witness line at 874-2190 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-442-7463.
Our local law enforcement departments do a great job, but they could always use our help.
