LOWNDESBORO — An accident in Lowndes County Monday claimed the life of two Selma residents and injured two others.
The one-vehicle accident, on U.S. Highway 80 near the 114-mile marker, killed Tara Sanders Carter and Frank Carter, both of Selma. Kwamikh Fletcher and Rosita Boyd were injured.
Lowndes County Coroner Doris Alexander, who pronounced Sanders dead at the scene at 12:20 p.m., said the vehicle was traveling toward Montgomery and all four persons in the vehicle were ejected. She said she understood that Carter later died at Baptist South Hospital.
