Hometown teams need support

This week, three high schools and one local college will hold their homecoming celebrations.

This is often one of the biggest celebrations for each institution. It’s a time for alumni and friends of each school to reunite and gather together to share old stories and memories of school days past.

It’s also a chance to see what is going on at your alma mater and what is new.

It is truly a festive occasion.

On Friday night, Selma High School, Southside High School and Keith High School will hold their celebrations. Concordia College will follow on Saturday. It is very important for students, parents and alumni to take advantage of this opportunity to support their local schools.

There is nothing like attending a football game in the fall, especially with the pageantry that surrounds a homecoming game.

There are a number of great things going on at our local schools. Homecoming is just one way to offer a large stage to showcase these changes.

This weekend, if you have the time, check out a homecoming celebration, especially if it is the school you attended. You will have the chance to see people you haven’t seen in years, cheer for the home team, and most importantly, support our local schools.
