Black Belt well-represented in AISA Hall

Three individuals from the Black Belt will be inducted into an elite group.
The Alabama Independent School Association has announced three individuals from the area in its 2011 class of Hall of Fame inductees.
Linda Williams and Stewart Harrell (Sandy) of Lowndes Academy and John Westbrook of Marion Military were among the class of AISA Hall of Fame inductees.
The AISA Hall of Fame started in 2000 and has inducted seven classes since then.
This year’s class will be the eighth, and includes 12 new inductees who will join 69 other individuals who have been inducted over the past 11 years.
The AISA Hall of Fame was created for the purpose of honoring and recognizing those individuals who the AISA deems have made significant contributions to their schools and/or the AISA.
The AISA Hall of Fame is open to academic and athletic standouts.
This year’s AISA Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremonies will be held at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery on Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
