With Sunday marking the 10th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11, the city of Selma will join the nation in remembering those lost on that fateful day.
On Sunday, the city of Selma will join other cities across the nation in a National Moment of Remembrance.
The National Moment of Remembrance will take place at noon, as cities across the nation will pay tribute to those who died on 9/11.
To help pay tribute, the city of Selma will sound sirens at all fire stations and the police department, and the ring bells at participating houses of worship as well as an observance of one minute of reflection.
Selma Mayor George Evans is asking all houses of worship to ring their bells at noon for one minute and urges all citizens to stop wherever they are doing to join in making the Moment of Remembrance a symbol of solidarity throughout the city.
