Alma Louise Smith, 88 of Lawley, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Alma enjoyed being a member of the Lawley Homemaker’s Club and participating in the Lawley Senior Nutrition Center.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Carson & Delia Foster; brothers, Truman and Carvel Foster; husbands, Marcus Harris and Carlos Smith; and a grandchild, Bryant Smith.

She is survived by children, Marcus Mason Harris, Selma; Jesse (Linda) Harris, Plantersville; Gervis (Sara) Smith, Marion; Jerry (Kathy) Smith, Valley Grande; Joann (Clifton) Parker, Brent; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren;  a sister-in-law Lexie Foster, Plecher;; a host of nieces & nephews; and special friends, Mary Ruth and Cecil Cash.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Dr. Kenny Hatcher and Rev. Etheridge Smith officiating.

Visitation was held at the church two hours prior.  She was laid to rest at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Perry County.

Pallbearers were Kirk Smith, Timmy Harris, Randall Carter, Justin Smith, Ronnie Smith and Skip Rozell.  Rockco Funeral Home directing.  www.rockcofuneralhomes.com
