Pauline Ford Manderson, age 77, died August 8, 2011. She was born on November 22, 1933 in Selma, AL to the late Cynthia Fowlkes and Lewis Eastman Ford. She was married to Webster Jewel Manderson, Jr. until his death on Novemer 1, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Lewis Eastman Ford Manderson, sisters Anne Gilmer Ford, Theresa Ford “Ditsy” Partlow, Cynthia Ford Fitts Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Webster Jewel Manderson, III (Laurie), her daughter Walton Manderson Newman (Lucian III), her grandchildren Virginia Walton Newman, Lucian Newman, IV, Laurie Elizabeth Manderson, Webster Ford Manderson, and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Polly, as she was known by her family and friends, graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and the University of Alabama where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday, August 10 at two o’clock in the afternoon followed by a private graveside service at New Live Oak cemetery. The Reverend Joseph S. Knight will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Ammons, Lane Brackin, Donnie Ellis, Phillip Pitts, II, Jeff Ratcliff, Jr., Jon Stewart, Holt Speir, Clint Wilkinson, III and Tim Wood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or a favorite charity.
