The YMCA won’t just be about swim lessons and fitness classes on Aug. 6. Instead, this multi-faceted fitness center will be hosting a community sale — their first Summer Variety Sale.
“People can come and rent a booth and sell any type of item,” fitness program director Kasey Burton said.
Interested citizens can use their booth to sell whatever they want, from handmade crafts, to baked goods, to yard sale items.
“For the community, it’s a good place for people to come and not have to worry about anything,” Burton said.
Booth rental fees are $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Vendors can arrive as early as 5:30 a.m. Aug. 6 to begin setting up, and the sale will run from 6:30 a.m. until there are no more shoppers.
“Its just going to help advertise ourselves — get new people in here to see the facilities,” Burton said.
Vendors get to keep all profits from what they sell, Burton said. For shoppers, there will be a $1 admission fee. “The only thing we get is the booth rental,” Burton said. “Anything anybody else makes is their own.”
Burton said the event is set to take place outside, but will be moved indoors if it rains.
