Mr. Roosevelt Savage
Mr. Roosevelt Savage, 69, resident of Marion Junction, AL, passed away May 19, 2011 in Marion Junction. Services are scheduled for May 28, 2011, 12:00 p.m. at Selma Ave. Church of Christ officiated by Bro. Davis. Burial will follow in Ellwood Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.
He was preceded in death by spouse Mary McGinnis-Savgae; parents, Joseph and Johnnie Mae Savage; son, Kevin Braswell; brother, Arthur; one grandson.
Survivors include son, Roosevelt Savage of Trussville, AL; four daughters Sandra of Selma, Shelia, of Marion Jct., AL, Keisha of Montgomery; adopted daughter, Pearlie Harris Jackson of Auburn; brothers, Joseph, John, Jimmie James Savage all of Selma, Steve and Robert both from Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Bessie Spivey, Lucy Kent Andrews, and Mary F. Savage all of Selma; fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sons-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, three brothers-in-laws, six sisters-in-laws, two great aunts, and two great uncles.
Mrs. Viola Davis-Ligon, 81, resident of Selma, passed away May 22, 2011 at Vaughan Regional hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Miller Chapel officiated by Rev. Spicer. Burial will follow in Ellmwood Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.
Survivors include four sons, Lonnie Davis, Daniel Ligon from Selma, Eujene and Theodore Davis from Detroit, Michigan; two daughters, Betty Hunter, Detroit, Michigan and Jessie Davis Perkins of Selma; sister, Ms. Mary Brown of Detroit, MI.; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two sons-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, three nieces, and one nephews.
