With the recent Selma City School Board decision to keep three targeted schools — Phoenix, Byrd Elementary and School of Discovery opened in 2013, many support personnel jobs and extracurricular activities must be cut.

“We’ve not cancelled any of our extracurricular activities,” McKenzie said. “School closures are not an issue or on the agenda at this point.

“We’re in the process of analyzing that (letting go of support personnel) right now but we haven’t made any decisions,” McKenzie said.
